Steve Meyer - President/CEO

Steve Meyer is the President/CEO of S. Meyer & Associates, Security Consulting Services.  He is responsible for leading all security assessments and security related services.

While forming S. Meyer & Associates in 1999, Steve merged with Planned Change, Inc. This allows us to offer a full range of business consulting services, including strategic planning and team building.

Steve served as a Security Shift Section Leader at Palo Verde, the nation's largest nuclear generating station. He was responsible for the daily direction of front line security leaders and officers, serving as the single point of contact with Plant Operations, top management and regulators to execute the security plan and ensure the safety and security of the facility, personnel, visitors and the public. Steve often served as the Acting Security Department Leader in this position.

Steve assisted in the development of security strategies and procedures. He also conducted start-up and challenge testing of plant physical security systems.  Steve started conducting and/or leading assessments of facility security measures and policies in 1995. Duties also included program assessments and plan reviews and revisions.

Steve assisted in the development and start-up of a new security computer system and in new communications systems that enabled communications site wide and with responding government agencies.

He is certified in tactical, armed and emergency response operations and has participated in FBI terrorist and hostage negotiation training exercises, including Operation Coiled Strike in 2001. This was a joint exercise with the US Dept. of Justice, FBI, NRC and other County, State and Federal agencies.

Training experience also included the training of new security officers for the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Station. This training included firearms, federal regulations from Chapter 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations and local laws. Continuing training was also conducted. Steve was also a certified defensive tactics instructor for the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Department in Oregon.

Steve left Palo Verde in 2002 to pursue his consulting business full time.  He was with Palo Verde for more than 18 years. Recent projects include assisting with a security assessment of a newly built gas fired power station, a local food bank with 5 warehouses and storefronts. Another recent assessment included a domestic violence shelter.
